earth day etsy-treasure!

so i started a post in the forums to get more lovely treasure and i was so inspired by these folks that this etsy-treasure is all about the love of the earth. Specifically re-using! These are some of the most creative and yet totally cool items. i hope that you look at this post and the stuff you have laying around the house and feel inspired.

This set of button-tastic magnets were made by backwoodsophiticate ! They attach fabulous square buttons to ceramic tiles, add a magnet and presto ~ you get a super hip magnet for your fridge. The magnets are coated with an adhesive glaze for protection and style! What a great way to use up all those extra buttons you have. Go here to check them out!

So this change purse was made by birdversusbird. Here is a blerb about what birdversusbird does, "The graphics for all Bird vs. Bird products are digitally printed on the waste edges and roll-ends of gigantor rolls of banner and adhesive vinyl we use at my 9-5 workplace (a commercial sign shop). What was once headed to the dump is now covered in cuteness and headed to you!" so cool huh! what a great way to use something that was headed for the trash.
go here to see all the purses, totes and magnets!

so beetlelady uses old maps to make these fabulous destination inspired journals! the journals are completely customizable -pick your country, your paper, your thread color ! such a great way to use an old encyclopedia! Beetlelady also offers other great journals in her shop... which is here!

ok- so that is what i have for today. hope that you enjoy and feel inspired! if you want to see more, just go to etsy and search for recycled or upcycled - you will be amazed at what you find :)

Thank you so much Jen for featuring my books along with these other talented Etsy crafters!

Those button magnets are fabulous and I actually bought one of birdversusbird's coin purses for a gift (need to go back and get one for myself).

Thank you again. You have a great blog and I am honored. :)

Wow! I really love those journals. There are so unique! I really admire people who work to save our planet by recycling like that, so I try to do that too. I make bags out of plastic bags. there are tons of bags that are polluting are environment. So, I decided to crochet plastic bags that might pollute our evironment and make them into a bag that can be reused over and over!
