Happy New Year!

So on New Years Day there was a Polar Plunge in Fairhaven, MA. Of Course my slightly nuts husband needed to take part. Now don't get me wrong the swim was for a good cause- proceeds went to a Scholarship, and a local Women's Center.But you need to keep in mind that it was 13-15 degrees, and very very windy! So Jon, my friend Tracie and myself headed to the beach. There we found alot more people than I expected. And some of them were even dressed up! So noon comes and everyone strips to their bathing suit, and gets ready to run in the ocean.... (just jon went it, it was too stinking cold for me!)

this is a picture of jon actually SWIMMING. Most people ran in and ran out, but not my Jon. He swam around and enjoyed the water for a bit. I suppose that it was warmer than the air. Jon was the next to last person out of the water!Her he is running out of the water... finally! and this next picture is Jon after running to car to try and stay warm. He was really cold, and a lovely shade of red, and shivering!
So if you are in MA next New Year and feel like being really cold for a good cause - Jon will be swimming again I'm sure!
